  2. --            RIPscrip - Remote Imaging Protocol Script Language            --

  5. The Remote Imaging Protocol script language (RIPscrip(TM)) is a text-based
  6. protocol for transmitting graphical images via a communications link.
  7. RIPscrip instructs the remote terminal to interact with the host system in a
  8. graphical, mouse-driven environment.  Hosts that support ASCII or ANSI
  9. text can have a custom graphical user interface with few changes to their
  10. system configuration.  For most systems, no alteration to the host system's
  11. software is necessary to implement RIPscrip graphics.  There are also a
  12. number of hosts that directly support RIPscrip graphics.

  14. RIPscrip is a 7-bit ASCII text based language, making it compatible with
  15. packet-based networks and various computing platforms.  It supports 16
  16. colors at 640x350 resolution.  Future plans for RIPscrip include 24-bit color,
  17. transmittable bitmaps, sound support, a resolution independent coordinate
  18. system, and full motion video - complete multimedia capabilities.

  20. Some new features in RIPscrip version 1.5 are MicroANSI fonts; pie slice,
  21. elliptical pie slice, elliptical arc, and bezier curve drawing primitives; button
  22. command; text variable creation and query; host commands; and local
  23. RIPscrip file playback.

  25. RIPaint(TM), a graphical paint program/development environment, draws
  26. menus and screens that can be used  to replace or supplement the existing
  27. host interface.  Most text-based hosts, such as BBS's, can take advantage of this
  28. tool.  The RIPscrip language allows the user interface developer to add mouse
  29. support for clickable menu options to access their system.

  31. The telecommunications community can also use RIPscrip to add graphics,
  32. charts, images and diagrams to electronic mail, forum messages, and file
  33. descriptions to provide a clearer understanding of their information and
  34. ideas.  The on-line community now has the means to communicate with
  35. sophistication and ease.  Users that found on-line systems to be confusing and
  36. difficult may now easily navigate a host system by clicking their mouse on
  37. graphical images, like Prodigy(TM) and America Online(TM).

  39. RIPscrip graphics may be viewed using our FreeWare terminal program,
  40. RIPterm(TM).  This terminal program may be given out free of charge to your
  41. users.  That's right - NO ROYALTIES!  RIPterm is a full-featured terminal
